Qualification: Level 3
Duration: 15-18 months
This standard contains knowledge based units and competence based units. There is a minimum of 6 observations of working practice to show learner’s competence in their working role. Also required for the framework is to complete level 2 employment rights and responsibilities (if not completed already), a 12 hour paediatric first aid course and level 2 functional skills for English, maths and ICT (if not already achieved GCSE grades A-C or grade 4 and above). Knowledge sessions will be delivered monthly and support in the workplace from colleagues with monthly visits from the Skills Development Coach.

Ongoing Skills Development Coach Support
There are 13 units in total covering a range of topics from child development to safeguarding. There are 4 assignments to complete which are at level 4, in order to bridge the skills gap between level 3 and 5.

There is a clear GC Education & Skills career pathway for the apprentice once they've completed the Level 3 Early Years Educator course.
